Capital’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard 2025 brought the energy, surprises, and emotion to Wembley Stadium on Sunday, capping off the ultimate summer celebration with a show-stopping performance from global icon Mariah Carey.
With 80,000 fans packed into the iconic venue, the day was filled with unforgettable performances, surprise guest appearances, and emotional moments that will be talked about all summer. For those who couldn’t be there in person, the entire event was broadcast live on Global Player, and ITV1 and ITVX will air the highlights this Sunday at 5.30pm.
Opening the show with her debut solo STB performance was Jade, who electrified the stage with a flawless medley of Little Mix hits including ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ and ‘Sweet Melody’. Serving powerful vocals and pop-perfect choreography, Jade paid heartfelt tribute to her former bandmates, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards.
Will Smith delivered a heavy dose of '90s nostalgia, thrilling fans with classics before unveiling a very special Father’s Day surprise: his son Jaden Smith joined him on stage. “This is my son, Jaden Christopher Syre Smith,” Will said, proudly celebrating the moment in front of thousands.
Singer-songwriter Lola Young hit an emotional chord with the crowd, especially during ‘Messy’, which saw Wembley erupt in a mass singalong. Few things say “you’ve made it” like 80,000 people shouting your lyrics back at you.
Jessie J provided one of the night’s most poignant moments, revealing that the Ball marked her final show before taking time off to battle breast cancer. Her powerful rendition of ‘Living My Best Life’ earned a standing ovation, with Jessie thanking the crowd and her loved ones for their support.
In true Capital fashion, the day included surprises galore. JLS stunned fans as this year’s Barclaycard ‘Out Of The Blue’ act, lighting up the stage with their signature boyband charm and Aston Merrygold’s gravity-defying flips.
And of course, it wouldn’t be STB without the Capital Breakfast Bong Game, which went live at Wembley for the first time ever. One brave listener took on the infamous Bong Man in front of the roaring crowd, and walked away with £5,000 after a crowd-pleasing twist from hosts Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby.
There were also live performances from Remember Monday, James Hype, McFly, Renee Rapp, and Rita Ora, plus fan favourite KSI.
Benson Boone and Myles Smith both had the crowds singing and dancing, whilst Tate McRae dazzled with her slick choreography (including that leg kick). The pop queen herself, Mariah Carey, brought the night to a fairytale close. After serenading a young fan, Sophia, with ‘Always Be My Baby’ and accepting a cuddly toy from her, Mariah ended the show with an emotional performance of ‘We Belong Together’—a perfect finale to a perfect day.
