Quantum of Solace picks up just ten minutes after the events of Casino Royale. James Bond, still reeling from Vesper Lynd’s betrayal, sets out to uncover the truth—and in doing so, exposes QUANTUM, a shadowy global organisation with deep-rooted influence, including infiltrators within the British government, MI6, and the CIA.
His investigation leads him to Haiti, where he crosses paths with Camille, a determined operative pursuing her own mission of revenge against General Medrano, the former Bolivian dictator responsible for her family’s murder. Undercover as the partner of Dominic Greene—a so-called environmentalist—Camille begins to suspect Greene’s motives, particularly his dealings with Medrano and aggressive land acquisitions.
Together, Bond and Camille uncover a far-reaching conspiracy: Greene is a key figure within QUANTUM, which is orchestrating a coup in Bolivia to install a more compliant government, all while secretly monopolising the country’s vital water resources.
